The Mother's Day holiday is near.  For years I had heard that women prefer flowers, candy, jewelry, etc. on this special day and that you should never buy them something that has a cord attached.  If so, I must have married one of the rare ones.

Once we got past the lean years I tried to follow the flowers, candy and jewelry advice.  After a few years she advised me that she also liked items with a cord attached and it sure has simplified my plight.  Since then we have added numerous corded items to the household inventory.  I would also note that quite a few were cheaper than jewelry and had the additional benefit of simplifying household chores (blenders, mixers, coffee makers, vacuums, etc.)

This year I got her a Margaritaville machine for Mother's Day.  She had been looking at it for several months.  For those who might not be familiar with it, it's a machine that makes frozen Margaritas, Daiquiris, Pina Coladas and smoothies.  You place ice in the top and add liquids in the blender.  It shaves the ice and automatically blends it for the proper amount of time to produce an excellent drink.

Since we were having our kids and their families over for a BBQ last weekend I bought the machine early in order to give it a proper test.  Needless to say, it was a tremendous success and viewed as quite a novelty.  Every time a new batch was mixed, everyone gathered around to watch it perform.

Once again I have found the perfect gift and given her something she wanted.  Hmmm, did I mention that I also like Margaritas and get to share in the benefits?

Mmmmm.... Margaritas..............

Man, it sucks to not be able to have those at the moment!

But it's all for a great cause, so I'm NOT complaining....

Now if ever I'm accused of saying something not nice, I'll blame Steve.
