You've got more wrapped up in lighting than I have in watches....

Nice setup Steve and nice camera.  Now all you need is a remote trigger.

I find watch shots real frustrating, especially trying to capture this dial  but its the best i could do!  straight out the camera using the onboard settings then just a black/white conversion thought it gave it a bit of atmosphere and hide the screwed up  user error WB setting to an otherwise boring watch shot

How do you still get red with a black & white conversion?

It's a great shot nevertheless.

the canon G7/9s got a cool scene mode on board called accent colour where it can change everything in an image to black and white excluding any colour of your choice by selection, for example i,ve achieved the same thing out of the camera by just initially taking a shot of any red object then applying it kinda cool effect
