Hey, we need some Basel stuff here.......
I like it..
Maxi-dial....more meat everwhere......
It is now set apart from the Sub and not just a deeper version of the same watch...
The date window that mirrors the opposite indice marker is great. full markers around the bezel....I love it...........
The rehaut writing tells you it means business.
And that new depth rating....12,800ft, wow.....These can sit at the bottom of the sea for years..
I never wanted a SD before.....I want one now.....

| i believe its rolex's new name for the combination of elements used in the new watch which contribute to its spec. i think it makes a great sports watch/tool but too full on for me, couldn't see bond wearing this one with a tux, that compromise between elegance and tool not in spec, as the origanal SD is without a doubt capable!!! but overall design IMHO |

According to the Rolex Press Release:
"the RINGLOCK SYSTEM. This innovation patented by Rolex consists of a combination of three distinctive features:
• The high-performance ring
Set inside the middle case of the watch between the crystal and the case back, the high-performance nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel ring withstands the pressure exerted by water on the crystal and the case back.
The middle case is made from 904L steel.
• The sapphire crystal
To resist pressure, the synthetic sapphire crystal is slightly domed and substantially thicker than the crystals of other Oyster models.
• The case back
The case back is made of a titanium alloy, an extremely resistant stainless material. It is held in place against the high-performance ring by means of a 904L-steel ring." _________________ - Larry

So Rolex have re-invented the locking ring. _________________ I'd feel lost without my GPS |

I guess that would be the ultimate tool watch from Rolex. _________________ Let's rock this place :-)
