I've just had a phone call from a friend at home. During the high winds in the UK, my tallest tree in the garden has blown down. Fortunately it fell down the length of the lawn and missed my fence. I've left a message with my gardener to cut it up and dispose of it. The birds are going to have to find a new nest site. _________________ I'd feel lost without my GPS |

Fence down , but whats been really annnoying is our rooftop aerial which seems to be knocking against the chimney which runs down the side of our bedroom against the wall our headboard is thought i'd lost the chimney last week when the earthquake hit jeezzzz!!! there was hell of a cracking!!! sound same area as the annoying aerial, we were quite near the epicentre[ biggest here in the UK in 25 years] but all seems well from what i can see using my 70-300 lens , you wouldn't think we were in the UK , makes you think sometimes will we all go the way of the dinosaurs in years to come seems funny now but who knows what's to come, guess I'll never know! . The human race big fish in a small pond but in comparison to the universe!?
Still looking forward to my summer holidays though

Wow, Glad to hear there was no serious damage..
We forget that other areas of the world have wind and earthquakes too.
Last month there was an earthquake in a small town to the north that practically destroyed the downtown area..... And around here, we had some winds of 60-70 mph with the mountain tops registering over 120 mph
However, the past few days have been sunny with the birds singing in the trees and everything starting to bloom for the spring...

Here it's getting hot again. I used my bag hide or as I now like to call it, my invisibility cloak, the other afternoon and nearly fried. I was in some reed beds near to my home and I thought the hide would keep the mosquitoes out. I did not think it would also keep them in but there was one in there with me and it must have taken a pint of blood. _________________ I'd feel lost without my GPS |

When I was in Alaska we used some Cammo Mesquito netting for protection.
The Mosquitos were so heavy, you needed to have some protection even when fishing..
I'll bet that those dark nets would make a great hide in the summer time... _________________ - Larry

In the summer here, it's just too hot to go out doors. I try to stay in the car with the A/C running and only switch the car off when I'm taking a picture. _________________ I'd feel lost without my GPS |

I forgot to mention, I've asked my brother if he can email me a picture of the fallen tree. _________________ I'd feel lost without my GPS |

Luckily, there was no significant damage We've been getting some pretty odd storms here too in the way of severity. I'm telling ya, I think we've broken the planet _________________ Me? I'm still looking for Kokomo |

My brother has sent just one picture so far. Here's just how close it came to hitting the fence.
