When I mentioned "I'm not at your level" I meant I'm better than you   then again as i know not much  how could it be anything other than user error, there's no way!! my nice new shiny prosumer D300 could be at fault

i haven't got as far as bracketed exposure at my level i actually thought it took several shots either side  |

It does and I think this is what happened. The first shot of the sequence was the one that was saved in the camera. My camera was setup where you had to keep pressing the shutter for the other two in the sequence. I was only getting number one. The bracketing would time out before I took the next shot. The following picture was not as bad as the others and I managed to resurect it in Photoshop from the RAW file.

seems all was not lost then faith restored  . i deliberately shot some really under and over exposed shots in raw and was impressed, first time i've shot and PP raw shots, how well NX recovered/corrected them a noticable difference when attempting to do the exact same adjustments with the jpeg . i could imagine it would be a pain maybe to add raw into a workflow if given a large quantity to PP but kinda cool safety net if you haven't got the time or opportunity to check your settings, that;s the approach i'm going to attempt to apply with regard shooting raw |
