I took a big chance in 1973 and went to work in Saudi Arabia. Looking back and seeing all my old mates, it was a very good decision for me and has meant we are now financially sound and I could probably retire tomorrow. Brenda is a great worrier so she's making me stay out there until I'm 65 or until the company decide I should go. _________________ I'd feel lost without my GPS |

I've had all the usual ups-and downs most have..
But as I look back, the downs drove me to make decisions I wouldn't otherwise have made......If I hadn't made those decisions I would not be where I am today.. retired early and comfortable...
Sometimes when things are going fine, playing it safe is not always the best solution...

I'm still at the beginning stages (I hope) at age 27.
Although I'm still a baby in you guys' eyes, I believe I've gone through a lot of "downs" in my life due to a car accident 11 years ago. I've undergone 11 surgeries in the first 5 years following the accident. I've had to learn to walk again, and live with pain every minute of every day!
Yet, it made me who I am today, and I feel I'm not doing too bad. I have a secure job that makes pretty decent money (compared to people of my age), I am happily married for almost 5 years, and we own a beautiful house (that'll be paid off in 20 years...).
The only thing we're missing in our life is a child, or two, but we're working on that!

Good job, good relationship, A roof over your head.... And it sounds like a good head on your shoulders.
These are blessings we can take for granted all too often... I applaud you...
I feel sure that any chilldren you bring into the world will be proud to have you as their parent.. _________________ - Larry

Thank you Larry, that is very nice of you to write!
I'm sure my kids are going to hate me though at some point, just like I did my parents, who are wonderful people (and married for 31 years!).
Same for my husbands parents, who are married for 28 years...
We have good examples... _________________ Mireyna
