I thought I'd take a few pictures of my old cameras, from my first 35mm film camera to the the last film camera.

This is the first, it's a Voiglander Vitessa.  It had a range finder focus device and a cracking good F2 lens.

I never really used this Yashica twin lens reflex.  You focused on the object with one lens and the picture was taken through the other.

These are my Minolta cameras from top to bottom, SRT-303, XD-7 and finally 700si.

I've always been a bit of a Minolta fan and only changed to Nikon when they announced they were stopping camera production.  Sorry about the dust on some of the pictures but they were done in a hurry.

Many people still swear by the old slide film images.  I have a friend who used to use slide film all the time.  He has only just made the transition to digital but he still prefers the results he got on slide film.  All the cameras are still functional but there is a slight problem with the vanes on the apperture setting of the Voigtlander.  They got meshed up a bit and need to be repaired.  I don't think I'll bother and just keep it as it is.

I just sold my 35mm Canon. It was a Rebel 2000.

It took great pictures and I still used when I had my digital Kodak. Then I got a Canon digital Elph for Christmas.   It's so much smaller to carry around than the other two. Great tp out in your jacket or the T-Bag on the motorcycle.

Plus I wasn't using most of the features of the 35mm, so it and the Kodak went

Very cool cameras Adrian!  I've got a Canon EOS 5 and an EOS 50.  I've started to shoot more film again just because I like it, especially real b&w.  My EOS 3 died the other day.  Stood out in the pouring rain for an hour.  I doubt that was it though.  There wasn't a drop of moisture inside.  Guess it was just its time.

I want a medium format kit in the worst way.  It would really suit what I shoot and where I want to go with it.
Cheers,
Brucee

I always hankered after a medium format camera but decided that DX or FX format was best for my work.

Yeah absolutely for what you shoot!  I mostly do landscape work and 35mm just doesn't cut it, film or digital.  I'm also getting tired of picture dimensions not even meeting the minimum for most stock agencies.  There was a picture call out the other day with a minimum that only my 5D would've met.  Well, a 10mp camera would've done, but only with no cropping.  The next step up in digital is just too rich for my blood.

Yes those 1D's are about £6,000 if I remember correctly.  My next body will be a D3 as they are coming down and I saw one the other day for £2,800.  Then of course I'd like the new 500mm f4 lens that's going for £5,000.  I think I'd better stop before I'm bankrupt.
