This guy was in next door's garden when I got back from work yesterday. It's a rose-ringed parakeet AKA ring-necket parakeet. They love the sunflower seeds and even though they are brightly cloured, they are hard to spot among the flowers.

When I passed him, I rushed into the house to get my camera. All the time I was setting it up I kept thinking "He'll be gone when I get back." Anyway I got back into the car, reversed into a good position, got one shot off and he flew away. Never mind there's lots of sunflower seeds around so there may be another chance.
