Well I started the year off with a day at work.  New Year's Day is not a holiday in this part of the world so partying on New Year's Eve is not an option.  We just had a couple of wines and then I did the "First Footing" an old tradition where the first person to enter the house in the New Year arrives bearing food, drink, salt, money and good wishes.  It's not too bad being thrown out of the house at 11:55 here as it's not too cold.  I might break the tradition when we go back to England.

I hope you all have a great day and a great year.

Thanks Adrian.  I hope you and Brenda have a great year as well.

Kelly and I just went out for a bite to eat last night. We got back home around 10:30.

We're supposed to get 3-5" of snow today and the same for the overnight, so there won't be any relaxing for me today.

We usually get snowed in when we go home in February so I can empathise with you.

That's not very much to get around here Adrian. We average 100" per year.

Last Valentine's day 24" dropped in one day. Nothing the next day, then the following day another 10" dropped.

We got our first rain last night.  I'm expecting the roads to be flooded this morning.
