I've assigned a number to each person who has indicated that s/he wants to participate in the Pollyanna.  I apologize in advance if I forgot anyone.  Just post on this thread if you wish to participate and/or were inadvertently overlooked.  Grab the next number in sequence, beginning with 15.  Alright, here we go . . .

1.  Joe aka Bubba (BigBird)

2.  Frans (GoodWatch)

3.  Mireyna (Abs)

4.  Bitsy (Jimbits76)

5.  Caroline (Carolina)

6.  Lisa (Lisa)

7.  Martin(a) (JDC)

8.  Nancy (away36)

9.  Al (Alcan)

10. Dave (daveathall)

11. Leo (Lion)

12. Martin (Deep Sea)

13. Jim (JimSnyder)

14. Faith (Taffi Abernathy)

We need to decide on who will do the drawings - one for the giver and one for recipient.

P.S.  Sign up open until 11/30/09

Faith, since you have taken the lead in organizing this event I say you go ahead and pick/decide.

P.S. If I draw your name I'll send you a check!!!  LOL!!!

Leo,

It is tradition in my family to have a couple of zeros in front of the decimal point, so if you pull my name, trade it with an unsuspecting innocent.

Faith, I can write a check with plenty of zeros before and if you like after the decimal point!!!

Here is my thinking . . .  It seems reasonable to spend approximately $20 to $25 per gift, but if people prefer, I can always take a poll offering a wider range.  I would like to wait until the deadline of November 30th to give others the opportunity to participate.  I will randomly pair and post gift givers and recipients on 12/1, so that you will be apprised of the person for whom you will be purchasing a gift as well as from whom you will be receiving a gift.  Since I am a participant, if you would feel more comfortable selecting a nonparticipant to to do the actual drawing, I understand.  Please provide feedback and let me know if this sounds ok or if you have other ideas.  Thanks, Faith

Also indicate whether you want to list items you want to receive or would prefer that the person just use his or her judgment.

Faith. that sounds fine. Personally, I'd rather my person use their own judgment with my gift (and I'm hoping they'll let me do the same, unless I'm absolutely stumped).

However, I'm flexible!

You get two people like that together and there'd be a whole lot of nothing going on.

I agree Carloine   The fun is in the surprise. I am also more comfortable with a $25 max as that is in keeping with the Secret Santa principle
