So sorry, Bill.  Bandit was lucky that you chose him and gave him such a good life.  He and Ethan grew up together, didn't they?  I hope you can find some comfort in knowing how much happiness and contentment you and your family gave him.

Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Thank you. That means a lot to me. When Daisy died Nancy sent that to me. I'd never seen it before then. What a great sentiment.

Sorry to hear about Bandit Bill, my heart goes out to you and your family.  I suppose he was in great distress and it was the only option.  RIP Bandit.

Mornin' Bill. I know the grey box will seem a little greyer today. Remember that we are all here for you and that we all care more than you know. I believe absolutely that Bandit will be there with you, keeping you company.

Thanks for the PM.

My thoughts will be with you all day.

Thank you Lisa.
We got Bandit the year before Ethan went into kindergarten. It was a fun day. I adopted him during the day and then we both brought him with us to pick Ethan up at daycare. When he came out and saw him it was pretty exciting. Of course some of Ethans friends were leaving at the same time so it was excited kids everywhere. Nice memory.

Bill, I'm sorry for you and your family in your loss of beloved Bandit. I too know of losing a pet to cancer and the void it leaves. I know when you and the family are ready you guys will once again adopt a pet from the shelter to fill your lives with love and companionship.....

Mornin' Bill. I'm sure you are relieved that Friday has finally arrived and that the weekend is ahead. It's been a tough, tough week eh bud? I hope the day goes quickly for you. Lots of rain and even hail here these past two days. A little sun would be nice.

Mornin' Nancy
Friday!
This morning Ethan has a follow up appt with the surgeon. He's hoping to be cleared for sports. His 16 y/o competitive team has a game tonight. He went to the last practice and watched, so he knows what's going on, but of course, playing is a whole 'nuther story.
It's been a pretty bad week: Wendy and Ethan were both sick, the yankees, and Bandit died. I'd like to put this whole week behind me. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get on my motorcycle for a while and unwind.
Enjoy the sun.

Bill, I sure hope you get a chance to take your motorcycle out and clear your mind a little.  You've been through too much this week.

Hope all goes well with Ethan's appt. this morning.

Oh dear, I don't read this thread every day, and had no idea.

Bill, I'm so sorry. Bless you for giving Bandit a happy and full life.

Bill, I'm really happy to hear that you're heading out on the bike. I know it's going to be very therapeutic for you.
