Glad you and your family had a great time Martin, I watched it on the TV, champagne football, great to watch.

To expand on what Jim said, I love English clubs to do well in the European competitions, as far as Im concerned I would love to see all 4 English teams in the semi finals, so long as its an English team that wins, Im happy.

Now if that team was Leeds...................arh.....oops.

I remember when you could watch a football game for less than two weeks in Spain.  Nice stadium Martin, thank goodness for the Arabs.

Yes you would have to have deep pockets to watch it on a regular basis. I was saying to Rosemary gone are the days you would pitch up after a few bevies and pay at the turnstile

Adrian, I think a real fan is kinda happy for the other bunch when there is some kind of personal attachement through friendship etc.

I work with somebody that always says "I hope they lose" when somebody in the office goes to see their team live...that annoys me as I wouldn't wish that upon anybody, I don't think a true fan of the game would. I wouldn't want to see the Woolich bunch win the prem or the Champions league but if they do well that's life...aint no poiint getting bitter about another bunch...I have enough on my hands moaning about my own useless lot.

As I've said before, nothing like watching your team live...even better if they win.

It doesn't affect me, doesn't affect the Spurs faithful and doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but to the Arsenal fans and my friends Rosemary, Martin and their son it meant the world..."best ever" are just the kind of words you want to hear after a night like that. I have to admit I checked the teletext to look at the score and was pleased with the result for em.

Saying that, I'm probably banned from the Seven Sisters Road and The Millford on Saturdays at 3pm forever!!!!!

J

Thanks Jim thats very touching. I agree wholeheartedly, have a rivalry but get it into perspective and do it with humour - something a lot of people forget these days

What a memorable bonding moment for you guys.

It was incredible and the pitch looked like a Subbuteo carpet. Vermaleen is a great addition

Good job Martin.  Events like those are great to share.  I assume the lads dressed in Orange were not happy with the outcome?

They were a good bunch, loads had made the trip over, they kept their humour going and sang really well, well those in the segregated section did. The five sitting next to Rosemary just had to endure proceedings     Not because of Rosemary I hasten to add

While working for the Host Broadcaster in the 1994 World Cup, I was in Dallas when the stadium was taken over by nice blokes dressed in orange.  It was a sea of orange.  Most Americans were in awe of the passion of the fans, and to think how far they came to support their teams.

Old Trafford is a stunning stadium, saw Bon Jovi there some years back, would like to go to a big modern stadium like the Emirates or Wembley.

Wish I could type tongue in cheek:
In a couple of years time when Leeds once again wear the crown of "Best club side in the world" a new stadium would be nice.

Vermaleen seems to get better every time I see him. Deceptively hard and very skilled. Gallas has benefitted from having him around. The Wenger 'method' is refreshing with all the $$$$$ being spent to buy success. It would be great for football worldwide if he succeeds with this latest squad. I saw them take Wolves apart-- Ramsey was excellent and Arshavin's goal clinical.

Yes they were too good for Wolves, Ramsey for an eighteen year old looks the part, Nasri getting his match fitness, Gibbs at left back, there is certainly a good crop of youngsters. Song again impressed in the Wolves game but Fabregas, an elder statesman at 22 years is turning it on in every game.
