I know this will not gain any sympathy here, but in Mexico domestic help is very inexpensive.  We have a full-time housekeeper who works Mon-Sat, 48 hours per week.  We pay her $1500 pesos per week (about $115 USD), and this is much more than other pay their housekeepers (most others pay $75-$90/week).  She's greatful to have the job, loves the kids (and they love her), and she's an excellent worker.

I regularlly tease my wife that she won't know what to do when we get back to the US and she doesn't have all that help around the house.  This comment is usually met with a stern look, or a kick in the rear.

Anyway, I suppose all that we to deal with down here, at least the house is taken care of and we can focus more on the kids.

I'm jealous....

When I was in Argentina I lived like a king.  Unless you have been there, it is hard to explain.

I agree completely!  When I try to explain how things are down here, the cost of services, etc., people look at me like I'm crazy, or at best feeding them a line of BS.

We have somebody that takes care of the yard; another person who washes the cars; our housekeeper who cleans the house, does all the laundry & ironing, and some cooking; a full-time babysitter who is on 'retainer' for whenever we need her; my wife has a driver, we have escort cars that follow us around when we drive, security people who watch the house, etc.  It all sounds good, but it becomes tiresome after a while, as you have no real privacy.  The entire outside of our house is on video surveillance 24/7, so no frolicing in the pool in our birthday suits.

I can have beer & liquor delivered to the house, along with anything else I want.  I will miss that when we go back to the US, for sure.  I used to tease my wife, saying that I wouldn't need her if Domino's delivered beer.  Well, down here they do!

And the hunting...OUTSTANDING.  Birds everywhere, and no real laws (to speak of) regarding seasons and hunting.  Private land is exactly that..private land, and the owners seem to do as they please.  I enjoy bird hunting, but don't get a lot of chances to do so, but there are no shortage of dove, pigeon, and ducks here.

Based on the amount of corruption throughout all levels of government, it's no surprise there's little or no regulation.

Out in the desert there are tons of different kinds of birds, many of which I have never seen.  I see something new every time I go on a mountain bike ride, which is kinda neat.

Yes it's nice to wildlife in it's natural environment.
