It's only 5 pm and I can't see the front yard...

The landscape lights havn't been changed quickly enough to keep up with the descending sun and ever quickening gloom..

My stomach tells me I'm hungry, but the clock tells me that it's far from suppertime, and if I want anything to eat, I'm likely to have to get it myself - providing I don't hurt myself trying to find the kitchen in this ill lighted hut I live in..

The temperatures are also plummeting and my comfortable shorts and t-shirt just don't provide the warmth I know I'll need to be able to survive in a few weeks.....

I'll probably have to find the instructions for the 3 separate digital timed heat/ac thermostats I had to have as I thought, erroneously of course, that they would make my life easier, more comfortable and less costly... That is, of course, if I can afford to heat the hut this winter...

Oh...to hell with it, I'll just have another cup of coffee...can't see anything anyhow...

Funny how we associate climates with different areas of the country. Here in the plains states we think Las Vegas is hot all the time, it's always raining in Seattle and always cold in Maine.

I can relate to the clothes not being adequate for the changing season and we all have a concern on the cost of utilities.

But any dilemma can be put on hold for a good cup of
coffee.

You should come to Mpls when we get a cold snap; -30 at night warming up to -17 during the day. Doesn't get that bad too often, fortunately, and over the years the trend has been toward warmer winters overall.

Still, winter is my least favorite time of the year since I don't walk well on snow and ice, and I don't do much outside.
