Delrin is a plastic, developed to simulate stone in applications.

Omega uses Delrin in their movement, notably the "Delrin Brake". They change the Delrin to a metal piece in display back models when it will be seen. I'm curious....Delrin is machinable and can be made in colors and can be made to look exactly like an anodized metal part.... Are they embarrased ?

Here is a nice shot..The delrin piece can be seen as an opaque part just above the central gear... What do you think ???

My 1975 Speedy has plastic parts and it's still going strong.
