Not a prize winning photo, but I finally got a hummingboid at the feeder...

| Nice try Bob. You need some expensive equipment to get anything decent. |

Well, the little Nikon Cookpix 4800 serves me well with its compact size and 8.3:1 zoom. It's light and I carry it everywhere. I realize its limitations, however. _________________ Eternity is a long time, especially toward the end. |

It's a great little camera and ideal for carrying around. Some of the digital SLR lenses weigh 4 kilos!! Not very transportable. I have a 300mm 2.8 lens and after a while of trying to shoot birds in flight, my arms start to ache like hell. |

We were in the back yard and saw the hummingbird fairly close up. He was not a ruby throat, I don't think, but had a small almost irridescent red spot on his throat. He flitted around the zinnias and the feeder, then made a beeline for my head! Had I not ducked I think he would have flown into me. I don't know why. _________________ Eternity is a long time, especially toward the end. |
