I was very lucky to get this picture as these butterflies hardly ever stop. Fortunately for me this one stayed on the flowers long enough for me to get several shots.

I used a Nikon 105 micro lens on a D200 body. I'd estimate I was about 9 inches away from the subject. They seem to be OK if you can keep your shadow off them. |
