Oh! You want us to do a Kris Kringle exchange! OK....I like the idea except for the listing of things I might want. I can't even manage to do that for Al when he wants to do Christmas shopping. I prefer the idea of a "randomly picked" item, but of course will follow the rules like a good girl.

Why don't we leave that up to recipients?  Participants should be able to give a few choices of items with the ability to indicate whether a random gift would also be acceptable.  In fact, Nancy, as I think about it, it would be interesting to see what others come up with.

Listen up, little mister, if you draw my number and send shortbread, you'd better enclose some epinephrine as I am allergic to eggs and other ingredients likely included.  And Nancy is right, you're not suppose to announce the contents of what you're sending - it takes away the element of surprise.  You're probably opening your xmas gifts early and then rewrapping them.  Am I right, Satan, I mean, Jim?

Nothing weird, I actually think that is quite common, and the anxiety about choosing a gift may be associated with a fear of making a mistake.
I, too, have similar concerns, but you know what?  It's not that deep.  Not only do I think it will be fun but perhaps we can have a thread devoted to participants and their polyanna gifts.  It will be like sharing some seasonal festivity with the rest of the group.

Bwahaha! Note to self: Do not send Faith eggs.
