What a great idea! I second the fact that a midsize dial might be easier to read. Can someone covertly check out her watch selection over the next few weeks? Or maybe send in another woman to show off a new watch and get her comments.

Heck, I'm sure whatever you pick out, she'll love!

I agree about the midsize being easier to read... I was just wondering if, because of her age, she might think it was too big.

Definitely will have to find out a little more about her.... thanks to everyone for the good comments and insights so far.

What a lovely thing to do Lisa! I like Brenda's btw. Nice and easy to read, and a lady of her age will probably like the gold with ss.

Lisa, I'm sure the lady will be thrilled with having any Rolex but if it were me I'd definitely go with the midsize DateJust in TT!!!

You should see what she likes to wear...  The mid-size is somewhat trendy and usually only seen on the younger set

At the Womens clubs that Pam visits, and at the Country Club where we see a lot of 60+ women, I can't say I have seen any with a mid-size...  almost all wear a Ladies size...

The Trophy wives and the daughters wear mid-size and full size more frequently, but even then, it is very much a lifestyle and particular "look", and certainly not the norm...

...........  There is also a cultural "Look" on watch styles that I will not get into....

That's kind of what I'm wondering, too, Larry - whether she would prefer a 26mm.  Especially in my part of the country... I asked Dave more about her tonight and he says she's pretty practical, average size, and not a "glitzy" type at all.  I keep thinking "Lady DJ...."

Well, then trendy may not be a good idea.

I don't think it is trendy, just more realistic.  Now, some of the uber huge watches, yes, but this isn't big.  It is 31mm.

To me it doesn't look too much bigger than the 26mm.... anyway, I've asked my husband to do some more spying - I need a report on what color jewelry she wears, if any, and what her existing watch looks like, if she has one.

I'd personally stick with a 26mm for an older woman.

The wife only wears mid-sizes, but unfortunately for her, I am the trophy.  On another note.  She started losing weight last November and went from a size 12, to a size 10, and now fits into her old size 6 jeans.  Me?  I need a blue bill to get any type of size.

That's a coincidence, the Arabs get their "P's"and "B's"mixed up.

I remember that. Wow - she's down to a size 6?? Holy cow, remind me how she did that again?

I'm still a size 12.

Don't let her get too skinny, Joe.  She's tall!
