Pah, and all I got to offer is an old freeze dried chicken wing.   Welcome.

Are you eqipped with hot sauce, celery, and bleu cheese on the side?

Hey Kevin...good to see you here, also!

I'll have a follow-up for you on the old bathing suit thread, and I'll post it here.  My mtb bike race is in three weeks...so we'll see how much six months of training will help!

See ya!

You know what?  I'll say it right now, to get me through the winter in good shape:  I'll play, too.  Look for a photo this spring!

I'll look forward to seeing the pic, Lisa!  Every once in a while I'll revisit this thread, or quite possibly start another one when I finish the race, and you can use it as your psychological internet boost to reach whatever goal you set.  Maybe we can have a running thread w/ 'results' like weekly calories burned, miles/km run or ridden, etc.

Thoughts?

My first thought is that I already wish I hadn't mentioned a photo this spring!

But I'm all for keeping a fitness thread going.  I don't know if I could be organized enough to track calories burned, miles ridden or run, etc, but I do need to improve my diet - I'm lazy about eating the right things and I know I drink too much coffee.  Also, I need to improve lower body tone... so, I guess I have some vague goals and that's a start, anyway...

Bike riding isn't as easy as it used to be because I have a toddler at home - but I do have a mountain bike and trailer, so if I can't do the distances I used to ride on my road bike, I can get at least a little exercise by towing the trailer with a kid in it.

Me too!

It's getting colder, and I am feeling the need for motivation. Winter is the most difficult time of year for me when it comes to exercise/motivation - esp. since I don't belong to the YMCA anymore.

Caroline, how are we going to stay out of the kids' Halloween candy? I've already opened the fun size Twix bought for our trick or treaters and just eaten two of them while viewing this thread!

I have a four lb bag of sugary stuff - Nerds, Sweet Tarts, etc. BUT, I haven't opened them yet, 'cuz they're for a party I'm hosting with another mom.

So, peer pressure and the threat of sheer embarrassment are keeping me out of the stash!!

I need some peer pressure.  See, I know we'll be out trick or treating and won't be home for kids who come to OUR house.... but I bought the candy anyway!  I guess I was toying with the idea of asking my inlaws if they wanted to come over and give out candy, since not many kids live in their neighborhood... but I don't think that's going to happen.  I think we're going to have a LOT of candy around here for the next few weeks....

I used to actually buy candy in advance, and rationalize that I could sample it - just buy more!!

Nowadays, we meet friends in their neighborhood, so I just don't biy the candy.

My issue, however, is *ahem* clearance candy. It's great chocolate, marked down 75% at Target. It would be foolish NOT to get it!

Such a bargain. Lisa, PUT DOWN THE CANDY!!
