Will Omega go all Co-Axial.....I follow a few different brands..
One I really like is Omega...
I've researched their Co-axial improvements, and I must admit, I am impressed that they were able to get a new thype of movement into the mainstream...
Still, I'm not convinced. I see that they have moved the lever pallet to the side and introduced another pivot to actuate the balance, which is now free sprung (Rolex has done this for years).
To make it work they had to slow the beats down some, and their claim of lower friction only applies to the original lever pallet. So, since you don't need to oil that one area as often, does their claim that the entire movement will now go longer between maintenance hold up... I'm skeptical.
I have heard that there are some owners who have had to have their Co-axials serviced after the usual 5 or 6 years....
So, maybe it is a pit premature to introduce this into their entire line and toss proven movements........

If they have slowed the beats down, surely the movement won't be as accurate. 
Sounds like a strange move to me.

I've heard a few stories of ongoing problems with the co-axial too. Omega has made a rock solid watch for some time now with some of the best movements out there. Why improve on what's working well?
