Time and tide................Coming home tonight, I thought I'd go along the coast road. As I got near to the beach area I saw these vehicles that were obviously stuck in the sea and the tide was on it's way in. It looks like the car got stuck and the pickup got stuck trying to rescue it. Then the truck had a go and it too got stuck.

Wow that sucks. There's nothing worse than knowing it's coming and there being nothing you can do about it.

In Alaska we had minus tides. The tide would go down so far that what was a rocky, surf pounding coast-line, would become a beach.
These tides would go out so far that we would drive out on what was essentially the ocean floor for a half mile or more.
People would take buckets, sacks, or even big ice chests and go clam digging..
Occassionally somebody would get stuck in the softer sand quite a ways out.....and the tide would come in

Steve,
We both know Gosforth as I had an uncle and aunt who lived there. Brenda knows Wideopen and Seaton Sluice but not Seaton Burn or Burradon. She hails from North Shields and lived close to Cullercoats.
