The reason why people are fat

I went to the Texas State Fair today and I pretty much ate the most unhealthy food possible...

First off, deep fried butter which was actually quite tasty...

Next, Fletchers corn dog which is a fair staple...

Who can say no to a Texas sized smoked turkey leg?

This was a bad idea from the beginning...chicken fried bacon...

Deep Fried Peaches?

One of my favorites...fried cheesecake

And sweet jalepeno fried corn shrimp to finish the day

uncle aj

Good heavens Vu, does the Texas State Fair have it's own cardiac unit?

Good grief, Vu. It's 5:25 a.m. here right now and I gotta admit....everything sounded GREAT!

SCARY to think about what that does to the arteries though!
jdc

I'm speechless   Are Texans related to the Scottish?
Lisa

Wow!  How do they think up this stuff!  Great pictures, Vu.  Hope you're feeling well today!
ColinB

Wow! I thought I was bad when I have a full english breakfast! That is a lot of fried food.
Lion

Vu, looks and sounds like you had a great time at the fair. Is everything fried down there I feel like my arteries are clogging up just looking at all your pictures!!!
Lisa

Actually, the smoked turkey leg does look good!  I've had them at the Canton, Texas flea market...

Vu, please fill me in on the fried butter.  I mean, HOW?  Doesn't it just end up being a fried ball of batter that's hollow inside?  Or when you bite into it does the butter run all over the place?
BigBird

They fry it frozen.  Nothing like fried ice cream.

In Scotland they fry Mars bars (chocolate), thats after Marianne Faithfull has tested them
Lisa

Yes, I've had fried ice cream.  But you know, the texture is kind of icky.  The chewy, gritty thing, you know?
BigBird

The fairs down south are really held to cut down on healthcare costs.  Reason being to kill 'em young so they do not use the healthcare system, with all the related costs, during the last two years of our mature life.

Well, sure - everybody knows that!  The Oklahoma state fair is the same way.... You'll be hard pressed to find a fair-goer without their beer and cigarette in hand, too.
