Speedmaster circa 1975I bought this Speedy new around about 1976, it still keeps good time and is a keeper. It's a bit bulky and I very seldom wear it but I don't think I could part with it.

I recently purchased the Automatic Speedy. Its more convenient than the Professional IMO, even thought purists may disgaree with me.
Its quite nice on a leather strap and I gave it to my father to wear. He seems to enjoy it :)

If you know where the pictures are hosted, e.g. Photobucket.com, copy the link where the pictures are and before the link put at the end. Hope that makes sense. :D

Hey AJ that's a nice vintage Speedie and looks in good condition as well.
I am not much into chronograph watches, but I am a bit curious about this one.
At the 12 o'clock end there is a two hand minidial marked up to 24hrs.
Is that a dual time function or a 24hr timer?
What is the movement? ETA or Valjoux?
Also, is this model available to buy new?

The dial at the 12 o'clock position indicates the 24 hours and the light and dark areas idicate day and night. As far as I know the movement is Omega's, based on a Lemania c.5100, the watch is circa 1974 and this particular design is no longer made. Here are some interesting links to this model.

I've always liked Speedies and Seamasters (would those be Seamies).
I think that if I goa nother watch now-days, I'd ned to get my head examined.
(Besides, the wife watches me too closely anymore)
That's a good looker .....I'd have to carry glasses with me all the time though...
