So The Only Thing Stopping You Getting A Daytona Is.........The lack of a date feature!! would you consider one of these fitted with the Zenith El Primero movement exactly the same as the earlier Rolex Daytona, and indeed arguably one of the best chronograph movements in production and may well have been still in todays Rolex if circumstances had been different! "Tag Heuer Link Calibre 36"
I like it unquestionably from a movement point and indeed cosmetically.
got any comments guys

The only thing stopping me is the very long waiting list.

I'll agree with that one..
Plus, I will not pay inflated prices when there are other great alternatives.
And, I've already got a few chronos...I can't see the little dials well enough, nor do I really have much opportunity to justify carrying some specs with me just to watch the little dials tick off the seconds and minutes..

That waiting list is the main problem.
I'm not willing to pay more than MSRP and currently on a waiting list but don't expect much from it.
There's always a bright side though. It looks like I'm going to save $7,900.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing stopping me from ever buying ANY Chronograph is having to stare all day long at the STATIONARY second hand!!
Had a Breitling Crosswind for about a couple of months and that thing just about drove me nuts!!

I have to laugh at that one JJ.
I recall wearing my Chronos all the time and hardly a week would go by where somebody wouldn't tell me "Mr. you're watch stopped". It's obvious that they liked the look of the watch (after all, they looked at it long enough) but it does seem wierd in that the second hand is not really the second hand, but needs an extra step to move...... :?

Reminds me of a joke...........
A guy goes to the doctors with a steering wheel tucked down the front of his shorts. The doctor asks "What's the problem?" to which the guy replies. "This thing is driving me nuts!"

Even if I could afford a Daytona, I wouldn't buy one. To me its just a dateless chrono.
I'm just that not fond of Chronograph watches. Like JJ, I had a Breitling Chrono. The stop watch sweep second hand doesn't sweep unless you actually time something. I kept looking at it and thinking the watch has stopped. DUH
I often wonder how often people who wear a chronograph watch actually use them.

To be honest i rarely use the chrono function! just love the look of sports chronographs in general, much like any dial embellishment diamonds whatever, guess you could apply that to any aspect that isnt used [SD /SUB depth rating  ] excellent solid movement like all rolex's . so that just leaves telling the time! I would find it hard to believe that the only reason someone spends $$£$$ on a rolex is to "just" tell the time, so it all boils down to self gratification whatever the model /variant or indeed brand.
