Secret Santa / Pollyanna

Does anyone wish to participate in a Secret Santa / Pollyanna?

I'll add a poll and see how many votes there are, for and against.  The poll will run for 4 days.

Does it seem reasonable to others that we know who the recipients of our gifts will be no later than 12/1/09?  Some of us may have to send our packages halfway around the world, and will need time to make the purchase, then ship it in sufficient time ensure it will be at its destination on time.  

P.S.  Please send nothing bearing radioactive isotopes or white powder.  Make sure to post a picture of yourself with your gift so we have something nice and festive to laugh at on the joy we have come to know as Christmas.  No excuses accepted!!!

I was very young when this song came out and loved it!  I just found out a month ago that this is Sly Stone's sister's group.  Whoa, cut my carotid artery!  I defy anyone to listen to this and not dance or at least tap an appendage to the beat!     My mother hates it which you know is a good sign . . .

This calls for an immediate change of number.  I take it it wasn't your    of tea?  I guess you didn't find it catchy and easy to dance to?  Nancy, my only recommendation is that you get together with other forum members here and file a class action suit against me for disturbing the peace or causing PTSD among you.  My mother will be the first to join your cause.

Glad I managed to make it in under the wire.  I'm sitting on a bus from New York to DC at the moment with my leptop and wifi.  This is the first time all week I've had a chance to even lurk, let alone post.

It's not bad, Lisa.  We did it on another forum I was on and it turned out to be a lot of fun.  And it generated a lot of cameraderie and good will.  Of course, a bunch of us got kicked off there, but that's another story.

Lisa, I get anxious about stuff like that too but I've decided in this case that knowing the whole gang as we do, I doubt that anyone could care less WHAT they "get". It's more about the fun part of exchanging something with a "second family" member. I think it'll be a hoot!!

Mailing things from Mexico is the same as donating it to charity.  Nothing you mail (of any value) ever makes it out of here without being broken or stolen.  

So, the gift may be a little bit on the tardy side, but it'll be worth it!

Or, possible something you wear, or use around the house (no, not a broom), or possibly something to make your life more enjoyable (not a full-time housekeeper, either), or possibly something to alter your mind (but I don't think I could get it back in the US legally).

Hmmmmm......this will be very interesting....
