Sail Boat Races..... (Dry Lake)There isn't a lot of water in the Desert, let alone Lakes.... So, the guys do what they can do.
With the blowing sand, heat thermals, and distances (the lakes are a mile or more across) getting decent photographs is a challenge..
A nice 500mm would have been nice........... But I did get by with a 70-200 and 1.4TC.

Nice set of pictures Larry. I think you're right, a 500mm lens would have come in handy.

That looks like a blast. It's funny to see how people will adapt to their surroundings. I'm starting to get a hankering for a 500mm myself but I'm trying to be patient. Cool shots.
