Ok ....The Gap or BR?I never had good luck with Old Navy stuff except the jeans.
Yesterday I ordered 2 blazers, some dress shirts, jeans, cords, belt ...even some aftershave from the Gap....but I have never bought anything in the past 15 years from BR.
To me BR seem way over priced and I would be better off at Brooks Bros
for the money.
Anybody buy from BR ? what about the quality?

Gregg, I don't know that much about Banana Republic, but I'm fairly certain that The Gap owns that store.

My wife makes all my clothes out of rags I bring home from work.
I've never bought from any of those stores but then again I'm 62.

The Gap owns Banana (a more upscale version) and the Gap also owns Old Navy (a less upscale version). Banana can be expensive, but I must say, they have wonderful sales, and you should check their web site peridocially if there is not a store near year. For example, a girlfriend of mine swears by Banana, but because they tend to be pricey, always waits for items to go on sale. If you have a credit card for their stores, you are privvy to sales before the general public.
(I actually see them as a "younger" version of Brooks Brothers. BB has classic, tailored clothing, and Banana has classic clothing usually with a slight edge or trendiness. Make sense?)

I like Gap, their jeans and chinos are well made and value for money. It also helps that one of my son's has a part time job there

Ah, a spy in the making.
I used to work with a guy who spoke Russian, he was previously employed listening to Russian conversations on radio transmissions, very hush hush. He was too fat to be a spy.
