Merging images

With CS2 it's very easy to merge two images, here's how I managed to get Valentino Rossi on my front drive.

First step, open the two images you want to merge, select the image you want to take a piece out of and select the "Lasso Tool"

Trace round the part you want to remove with the "Lasso Tool". A rough outline will do.

Now select "Copy" from the "Edit" menu

Now select the image you want the piece to go into and select "Paste" from the "Edit" menu.

Select the move tool and use this to position your pasted item roughly where you want it.

Select "Free Transform" from the "Edit" menu. A frame will appear round the object and you can alter the size to suit. When you have the correct size, double click inside the frame. You can still move the object by using the "Move" tool.

Go to the "Layers" menu, select "Layer Mask" and "Reveal All".

Now select the "Brush" tool. When selected make sure the "Mode" is normal and "Flow" and "Opacity" are 100%

Ensure the Black colour is selected from the "Swatches".

With a suitable brush size selected, go over the area where you want the background to appear. You can enlarge the picture for better accuracy.

A completed image.

Here's another one I did earlier, there is only one aircraft here, I lassoed the image, copied it, turned it around and merged the two.
