There were two of them Larry and they were catching flies in the air and then returning to the perch. It was great just watching them.
Here's what they look like in the light.

Quite colorful...
They appear to be smallish......finch like...
We don't have a lot of colorful birds in the desert.. A few miles away in the mountains we can find the occassional Mountain Blue Bird, and even more rarely a Red Robin in the bushes.
beyond that, they're all pretty much black or grey
not colorful like these little guys
