M serial numberIt appears that the latest serial numbers are "M" prefixes.This differs from the "random" serial numbering we heard would be the latest from Rolex as late as last month.. Is there something I'm missing here.... Is the M constant, but the number is random, or is it sequential as it has been, and the random rumor was little more than that....???? Or are there models that are, indeed, random...???? |

Certainly NOT random as far as I can tell.
I mean, the Z-series began with the lower numbers. For example, my Blue Sub bought in December 06 has Z-27xxxx. The, later models followed with Z-3xxxxx, Z-5xxxxx and so on. Now we have M-02xxxx and climbing all the time. So there certainly seems to be an ASCENDING pattern in the serial numbers. Of course, there will always be some old NOS models lying in your AD's stock - nothing anyone can do about that, uh? Naturally, once the NOS models are sold, they still carry the fresh 2-year warranty from actual date of sale. JJ |

Is it just my imagination or did the Z-series have a shorter life span that some of the other series? If so, were more watches produced or did Rolex just arbitrarily change it? | ||
