We don't do Halloween over here really...well we get a few hooded yobbos on mountain bikes threaten to "key yer car" or "Nick yer Sky dish" unless you give them sweets or cash...I believe this is the proverbial trick or treat.
If we did do Halloween...well if Bitsy did Halloween....this is how he'd do it.
The kids on our compound do it but we stopped. We were eating too many sweets before they arrived so we abandoned the idea.

I think it's time to break out the DVD "The Nightmare Before Christmas."

The nightmare before Christmas happens on the imfamous Friday 13th November. Yes it's a big day for me as well as Lisa, I adopt my other role as S Claus at a day of jolliness and games for the kids on one of our compounds. Wish me luck!!

Halloween is a great time of the year and I love seeing the children all dressed up and handing out candy. Maybe this year it won't be cold and rainy!!!

I love that film Lisa....I'm a fan of Burton the autuer and also of the Selick style of animation.
The opening is fantastic, as is "What's this?" but it's this that still tugs my heart strings..
I love all things Halloween - trick or treaters, haunted hayrides (incredible fun here!) and great horror movies. I'll be looking for "Night of the Living Dead" or "Frankenstein's Daughter" on tv - tour de force works of art! Taffi's asked to go out as an Akita this year. Nice thread.

AJ, I can't think of a better Santa for the kids! I know you'll have a great time, and so will the kids.

Jim, do you have the DVD? Ours has a wonderful documentary disc that details the stop-motion technique - it's really amazing stuff.
When we lived in San Antonio we got to see an exhibit of some of the models used in the film - Oogie Boogie, the bed ("I am the one hiding under your bed") and some other props. Oogie was about 18 inches tall but the bed was closer to 3 feet.

I agree, Faith - Halloween is my favorite holiday.
Eek! Looks who's hanging out in our trees!

So Lisa, do you dress up when you take the girls out trick or treatin'.....
Lisa
Nah, Leo. It's almost too much just to get the three of them ready and out the door before trick or treaters start to show up at our own house! I'm busy as a one-armed wallpaper hanger... lucky to even find a matching pair of shoes!

Well, yes. I'll remember to bring an empty wine glass this time because if the neighbors recognize you they'll fill it up for you....

What a concept, getting drunk while you watch your girls accumulate candy!!!
One year when we were visiting Pam's folks her sister dressed up and we went to houses we knew and were given cans of beer instead of candy.....

Our most fondest dame decorates her pumpkin, no matter the holiday.
