Hello from me....

Hi there: I'll start a new thread to avoid hijacking the previous OP.

My name is Nick and I live most of the time in Cowes, Isle of Wight, but also have a place in St Ives Cornwall (not least cos the house in Cowes is under extensive rebuild, which never seems to quite end!). My wife is obviously extremely patient (or just plain resigned to a somewhat nomadic lifestyle, as she works both on the Island and in Devon herself.)

I've known Uncle for a few years now, we work for the same Company (but in different Countries) and have met up in London for a meal and a few beers (and intend to do so again v soon!).

I share Uncle's passion for birding (I'm a seabird addict - a seawatching nut, rarely without my Swarovski scope and bins close to hand- I can see the sea from both houses) and also share his love of watches. I have a Rolex Submariner 50 year anniversary model (the maxi-dial "green one") which is my almost constant wear and I also have a 14060M Sub, a Pepsi GMTII and a standard 16610 Sub-date, the latter two having been "adopted" by my two recently graduated Sons, to the extent that they may as well consider them to be theirs! I'd also probably lose the green Sub to my daughter if she didn't have such skinny little arms :D

I would also share Adrians passion for bird photography, except - compared to him - I'm pretty useless except on lucky days. I'll leave that sector of the science to him and concentrate on sea/shore bird ident! That gives us enough problems, eh Adrian? :?

The other interest is boating (the ones with engines preferably)... but that sort of goes with the Island and Cornish life anyway, so no great surprises there.

So that's it for now... thanks for the new forum Adrian.

Thanks for the introduction Nick but you got something incorrect. You may work for the company, I just attend.

I stand corrected... but am catching up with your work ethic quite fast (certainly for the next 3 weeks on leave!) :D
