First pictures from my D300It was a very drab dull today, not really suitable for photography so I thought I'd try out my new D300. The following pictures were all taken at ISO 1600 due to the very bad lighting conditions. From these results under the conditions today, I'm very pleased.
Chaffinch
Robin
Dunnock
Blackbird
Bullfinch

WOW!!! were they straight out the camera settings? the colours are real nice as well as the other aspects that make a great pick. I've only just powered mine up and formatted the card was up till 2.30am this morning installing and updating the various NX software once you start you can't stop you know how it is i want to shoot raw but would have some compatability issues useing my current OS /PS elements/i-photo. lens came this morning no more excuses now in with both feet this weekend hopefully

Steve, I started out with straight camera settings and then I altered the colour settings. I set the camera at "Vivid" and pushed the saturation level two bars to the right. I'd had a look on Ken Rocwell's site and used some of his settings.
All the pictures are from the cameras jpegs and I only altered the leves slider in Photoshop and added just a touch of smart sharpening.
