Do You See Some Rolex Models AS Age Related!???

Feel Young at heart enough now to wear my daytona or any Sub and feel a Day Date as an old mans watch, but in my mind now should I reach retirement it would be the sports watch that would be out of place, to my elders  does your mindset change as the years roll , i'm getting thoughts of jimmy saville at 70 in lycra [diamond ENCRUSTED!!!! YG Day Date" jingle changle "wasn't that one of his catch phases] guess he thought it looked good! maybe thats what matters! and my mindset WILL change as the years roll.

I bought the 50 year anniversary GMTII for my 60th. Does that answer your question?
steve

actually no! the GMT is the one watch in the sports line that i don't associate with any sporting activity and to my minds eye can be carried off with valour by any gent regardless of age

I think the latest trend towards Rolex sport lineup defines how the world has changed its perspective.

A couple of decades ago I was a young man with a Sub...It was considered a "big" watch and only associated with an "adventurous" lifestyle - but you still didn't wear one to dinner. The TT DJ was considered the professionals after hours watch.. Young men wore them to dinner, older "retired" gentlemen wore them all the time..

Today, the Sport watch has become the status symbol of young men who feel they have finally made it. And, at 40mm they're considered small...!!

The Sport watch is now the standard, and it doesn't matter what age you are...

When I get old maybe I'll have a different view..

Well if a SS Daytona is offered to me I'd take it without hesitation.

I do not consider any Rolex an old mans watch (unless you are wearing it Tools 8) ).
Must say that a diamond encrusted one in gold is kinda dressy to wear on other occasions than dinner/suit but that's a different story.

Timebroker

hadn't seen that until now.

I don't consider any Rolex an "old man's" watch. I guess it's all in your mind whether you classify a certain model/'style as suitable for the older generation.

Come to think of it, old age is always 15 years older than I am.

I own a Sea-Dweller and I don't consider I am too old for such a watch. Sure it could be classified as a sports watch or a tool watch, but I wear it daily because I happen to like it and I don't really care what others think.

I saw a guy in town the other day riding a Harley Davidson. He was in his mid 60's and looked as happy as a wet dream.

Vintage watches are often on the wrists of vintage men.
