Desert darterWhen I was out doing a bit of bird photography, I spotted this dragonfly that was illuminated with a bit of back lighting. I just took a shot with the telephoto I was using for birds, too lazy to slip on the macro.

That's termed the "obelisk stance". They do it to keep cool, there's less surface area exposed to the sun. That's what my book says anyhow.
