Capturing AlopeciaHad a friend of mine call last week wanting some business portraits to be taken. Poor blokes got Alopecia which is a shame as if he had hair he wouldn't abusing like AJ does.
Anyway what I found whilst shooting him was that the lack of hair from his head and eyebrows meant he was fairly expressionless. You dont realise just how vocal your face is without speaking until you lose the means to express yourself, your eyebrows.
What it did lead to was some of what I found to be some of my most interesting standard studio portraits for some time. Not due to any kind of art look but purely because the site is so unusual it makes his portraits that little bit unusual.

Just shows, smoking makes your hair fall out.

I thought you were going to photoshop some eyebrows....
But I guess with no eyes, he won't know anyhow.
I thought they all were full of expression....perhaps not what he intended, but expressions never-the-less..

he was a bit surprised when he saw one or two, he thought his expression ended up looking confused. I think it was the first time he had realised just how much communcation is done via things such as the eye brows (brow in AJ's case)

I like the second (colorful) picture! You can tell he looks sincere and content on that one! That's the one to go in his portfolio if you ask me!

I thought all the photos had some variety of expressions. The first wasn't very flattering though. The shadows really made the third one.
