Hello All,
Thank you all for taking the time to welcome me. I'm just sorry that I've been so delinquent in responding. It does take a newbie a bit of time to discover all the best spots.
As a side note, I'm warming to the software. It's pretty good, if a tad different from what I've worked with in the past.
Well, this is my new watch forum home and I'm pleased to be here. I never was a big PM guy, but have to confess I'm touched by many of you that have reached out recently to comment on posts made by me over the last year and especially the last few days. Let's say it's VERY much appreciated and leave it at that.
I'm very interested in learning more about watches and will eagerly help newbies when I have something to offer. HAPPY to be here.
I think most know me from mutual time at "brand X," but for the others:
Was a long time US Marine pilot. My last tour of duty was representing the Corps to Congress. Eventually retired and still work in gov't affairs. My only "jewelry" interest in watches. Have a number of them to include a few Rolex models. No expert on them, but might be able to answer your questions regarding brands I own: Lange, VC, AP, Rolex, Panny, Concord, and some others.

Not really. I have my Desert Storm / Desert Shield campaign ribbons and lived in the infamous Khobar Towers (near Dhahran) right after the major hostilities ceased though. We thought about reentering Iraq for a short while and I was a member of the strike planning team from the USS Abe Lincoln carrier battle group there to develop the plan with the USAF folks. It was canceled in short order though and I went back to the ship.
I was shipboard during the actual invasion that you'll remember wasn't very long.

The reason I asked was I had a Cobra squadron billeted in my workshop. I think their Colonel was called Hill.  The pilots slept in my office for a while.
