At last I managed to get out again

With my car having been in the garage, I've not had much opportunity to get out.  Yesterday and today were the first proper outings I've managed.

This is the best I could manage with this pallid swift.  It was almost dusk so I was happy with the result.

I saw six squacco heron in the reed beds near my home yesterday afternoon.  This is one of them.

This morning I went back to the local reed beds but the herons were not there.  As I sat in my car, this white-cheeked bulbul landed at the side of me.

After breakfast I had a drive up to Dammam International Airport.  There were lots of these blue-cheeked bee-eaters around.

These black-crowned finch larks are a summer visitor.  They arrive during the hottest months of the year and breed.  They must be mad.

Look Great..

How many shots of those in flight do you take to get a good one..

(Or maybe all you take are good ones.... )

With the swift I must have taken about 20 shots, some with flash and some without.  This one was without and was the best.  With other flight shots you don't usually get more than one or two chances and the birds gone.

Thanks Mireyna and I don't know if it's male or female as both sexes are alike.

All the bee-eaters have gone now Rahil, I went up on Friday and only saw sparrow-larks and a couple of hoopoe-larks.

I'm in Bahrain the next two weekends and then I'm off home again for all of August.
