Another Hummer..........Sometimes the little dickens would get around behind me and make me shoot into the sun.........
All I got most of the time was a silhouette........
They fly backwards too...........

Try using a flash to give you fill light.

It seems most of my in flight shots end up like this. I went out today looking for some Heron's and Egret's and just happened to run across a feeding area for Hummer's and got some decent shots. There was a patch of flowers that I think may have been Honeysuckle and they were pretty active. I'll post them later.

As Adrian says, if you know that you're going to be in a situation like this, you can use fill flash.. My camera doesn't have a flash, so I would have to remember to have one with me..
Also, you can over-expose by a stop or two if you know that you will have a lot of light entering the camera and messing up your meter readings..
This one was taken by over-exposing by a full stop.. I missed the focus in flight, but you get the idea..
