We have a similar thing in England, English is spoken differently in many areas. The north east is a good example, here are a few of their words and the English equivalent.
Yam - home
Clarts - mud
Netty - toilet
Wor - our
Gannin - going
Divent - don't
Hinny - darling
My wife's from that area so I've learned a few words, just enough to communicate with her.
