A few from todayI ran across a Holly tree and the American Robins were going to town on the berries.
I guess this guy wanted a piece of the action but he didn't stick around long. A Waxwing I believe.
Out of nowhere this guy flew into the tree just long enough for me to get a couple of shots. The bird book I have isn't very comprehensive so I'm not sure exactly what it is. He was pretty large. Much bigger than the Robins. Some kind of Woodpecker I assume.
Just a lonely Dove.
And finally I believe this is a Comorant but I'm not sure about that.

Your robin is more like our blackbird in shape and possibly size. You were right in the identification of the woodpecker, waxwing and cormorant. A flock of waxwings has been spotted about 13 miles from my house and I was going to drive over there this morning. When I got up it was dull, misty and raining, plus I think I'm coming down with a cold and have a stinking headache. I'll give it a rest today and may try another day if I have time.

I found out it was a Pileated Woodpecker. Pretty cool looking bird and much larger than I realized woodpeckers could get. The Blackbird does look very similar to the Robin. I hope you don't catch what I just did. I woke early Sun morning in a bad way and actually took the day off from work today(only the 2nd time in 15 years). I won't bore you with the details but it wasn't pretty.
The Dove's around here are so slow and seemingly unconcerned it's wonder they have even survived. There are few of them on my road and I constantly have to slow down for them to get out of the way. They seem like they would be pretty easy to make into a meal if you were inclined.

Here are a couple more I took Saturday. The exposure on both of them was a little off and they didn't turn out the greatest. I'm not sure what they are. I need to get a better book.

The top one looks like a cross between a swan and a goose.
The bottom one is a tufted duck.
