My trusty 99 Jeep Cherokee died on me a couple of days ago. Luckily, Paul pointed out the problem when he was here last week. So I had time to have it checked and trade it in before it completely broke down for good.

But, today I went to the car dealer found the car I wanted to buy (used) and went round and round and round with the arsehole over and over again. Each time he assured me that what he offered was the ABSOLUTE bottom line.....right up until he found a way to get it just a little lower I swear, it's like pulling teeth. How do they ever expect you to believe that the deal you finally agree on is a good one?

Luckily, the owner was there, he was driving an Aston Martin Vantage convertible. The thing is like sex on wheels 8) I was going to just buy that, but I would have had to sell my house and not eat for the next twenty years or so But, we happened to know a couple of people in common so I think I did alright and he threw in an extended warranty.

All in all it made for a headache. On top of the annoying ordeal, I'm now stuck with a car payment for the next three years

O.K., rant over. I feel better now. Thanks for listening

I actually am lucky since I have a family member in the car business. So he just buys my cars for me, not that I get anything fancy or new.

But what a hassle and pain in the arse, I totally agree m8.

I did get a little lucky. I got to see the new Harley sportster nightster. That bike has ME written all over it  I've had a 93 softail in the past and a couple of Hondas. I never even considered a sportster until I saw this one. It just looks fantastic!

The last car I bought was 7 years ago in Saudi. Before that it was 1984 when I bought my Audi and before that was 1976 when I bought a Ford Capri. I still have all three vehicles but think I may have to replace the Ford and the Audi in a couple of years.

Bottom line is I can't remember what I think of car salesmen.

I wish. At work I get to drive a shared vehicle, well we have two but as the boss, I get to use them more than the others. I have to use my Toyota to get to work and home again.

In the UK I have just got my bus pass so if the Audi or Ford are broken, I could always get the bus.
