These are usually found in semi desert areas.  They grow to about three foot long and are vegetarians.  Moisture is absorbed though their skin so they have no need to drink.  The local term for them is dhub.

There are clumps of vegetation, small shrubs etc.  It's semi desert, not the full blown sandy waste.

He looks pretty mean for a vegetarian and his tail looks like an alligator's. He blends in well with the area. Cool shot.
