I just bought my wife a P5100 Coolpix.  I'm amazed at the quality of images for a compact digital camera.  It gave me a few brownie points.

my G7 just went down the pan the zooms busted there's a small spring on the zoom switch seems to have broken i guess so it goes all the way out or in no inbetween without a bit of juggling so my compact is the d40 now which actually feels tiny now! in comparison which kinda puts you in the right frame of mind to use it for holidays when i first got it, i like many from P/S thought it was BIG!! a full blown DSLR
