I entered this picture in a monochrome competition on the Bird Forum I'm a member of.  It was taken on a dusty day and the original is almost monochrome so very little adjustment was needed.  Please give honest opinions and let me know what you think.

Just for those who want to know, it's a stonechat.  Gets it's name from the fact that it's call is like tapping two stones together.

I feel it lacks some punch to the image [just my preference for what its worth, art/beauty is in the eye of the beholder ] i just tweeked contrast/levels

You could be right, I just changed the other picture to grey scale and did not bother tweeking it.  In fact someone asked me for a copy as a wallpaper and I enhanced that better than my original.

a subtle but noticeable difference  think i was a bit heavy handed yours looks more natural yet now has more impact
