First, let me say that I have not normally been a Daytona fan..

I have several nice Chronographs, including a very nice 60's Lanco (Lanco was part of the SSIH Holding Company that merged with Omega/Tissot in 1930) up to a new Omega Speedy Patch and some others in between..

But the last couple of weeks, I have had an urge to call my AD and see if they would sell me a SS Daytona..

I don't know....I've never asked about one from them..

But my question is why ?  What happened to my grey cell wiring..  I've never been interested in a Daytona before..  Am I caught up in all the hype..

Anybody have any suggestions  ???

I'm with you Larry. I never cared for the Daytonas either. I'd much rather have a Speedy Pro or El Premiero than one. I even bought a white dialed one once. Walked into my AD for something else and he had it sitting in the case.

I bought it, wore it for the weekend, and turned around and sold it. He gave me the option of returning it in 30 days if I didn't like it, but it went to a good home.

But if you like it, then by all means go for it.

Didn't I read somewhere that you said "No BNIB watches for me this year."

Yep....That's my New Years Resolution...

That even makes this more frustrating...

But you know, I've looked around a bit...It seams that MSRP, new, from a dealer is cheaper than a used one...

That's the case in the UK but the waiting list is years long.

It definetly is. You just have to find an AD that will sell you one for MSRP without all of the BS that goes along with it.

By BS I mean spending $50-$100k per year just to get one

My AD hasn't gotten one in two years. If they did they also don't ship, so I can't help you out there.

can't see a bad side to a SS Daytona at list, cheapest high end/quality new watch you can pick up taking everything into consideration IMHO if you can afford the outlay hey! try turning a profit on a $100 timepiece so if you apply my logic it makes a Rolex a better value for money watch than a swatch!
